DCM scan of this issue includes a number of items missing here:

after "Trumpet of Doom" is a Text story entitled "a Dead Jap is a Good Jap" 2
pages by Joseph Millard ~ I can see why one might be inclined to miss that one.

After "the World's Mightiest Mistake" (another embarrassingly racist story) =
another installment of the 'Paste the Axis' contest (2 pages with a different 2
panel C.C. Beck inset) 
the contest pages are followed by that issue's Captain Kid installment - 6
pages art & story Al Liederman - no title, but the story revolves around a
western character named Rattlesnake Ike.

THEN comes the last Captain Marvel adventure "In Mexico"
